CAPE CORAL, FL (WFTX/CNN) - A young teen faces a second-degree murder charge in connection to the death of a homeless man.
The 13-year-old, who has not been named by police, was arrested at his home Sunday. Law enforcement officials found the body of the 51-year-old victim at a homeless camp Saturday.
"During the investigation, it was determined the victim had been stabbed numerous times and died as a result of the injuries sustained," said Sgt. Dana Coston with the Cape Coral Police Department.
Detectives said they developed a suspect based on evidence at the scene.
The teen was also charged with burglary for allegedly trespassing on the private property. Authorities said they were deciding whether to charge him as an adult.
