(CNN) – Hyundai has issued two separate recalls involving Sonatas.
The automaker is recalling 883,000 model year 2011-2014 Sonata sedans.
Hyundai says the transmission shift cable can detach from the shift lever pin. That could cause the car to be in a different gear than shown on its dashboard. Hyundai says dealers will inspect the shift cable and will make repairs if necessary.
The other recall is due to a brake issue and involves nearly 5,700 2015 Sonatas.
One or both of the front brake calipers can fracture due to a manufacturing error. The recall covers vehicles made between April 25 and June 16.
Hyundai advises affected owners not to drive the car and contact the company for a free fix.
