OVERLAND PARK, KS (KCTV) -

Authorities are no longer looking for the man accused of trying to abduct a 9-year-old Overland Park girl and are now saying that no crime was committed.

Overland Park police were previously investigating what they called an attempted child abduction that they say happened at 11:45 a.m. Monday near 87th and Melrose Street.

Police were contacted about the incident at 6 p.m.

The girl told police the suspect was a 6' tall white man with a medium build and a blonde beard. She said he was wearing a long-sleeved red shirt with black pants, black boots and black hat. He drove away in a small green pickup truck that was described as "beat up."

Wednesday police said their follow-up investigation has concluded that no crime was committed and they are no longer looking for a suspect or the green pickup truck.
