Malzahn thinks about FSU game 'every day'

Posted: Updated:

Auburn coach Gus Malzahn made the rounds in Bristol, Connecticut Monday morning on the different ESPN platforms.

When asked about last year's national championship game, Malzahn said, "When you come up 13 seconds from winning it all, you think about it every day."

The one question he wasn't asked: What about Nick Marshall's punishment from his brush with the law earlier this month?

Malzahn did say that Coach Lashlee worked with Marshall on his footwork. "He can throw it 75 yards and make all the throws. We felt good after spring that we can be more balanced."

When asked about the future of the up-tempo offense that Auburn runs, Gus said, "A majority of high school offenses are spreading it out and playing fast. Then you see what Chip Kelly is doing in the NFL. I think that's where the game is going."

Auburn opens up the season on August 30 against Arkansas in Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban is scheduled to be on ESPN Tuesday.
