KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A man and a woman were taken into custody late Monday morning following a high-speed chase involving Kansas City police.

The chase started shortly after 11:30 a.m. after police spotted a man who had warrants out for his arrest involving an aggravated assault.

His car was spotted on Interstate 435 near 23rd Street. The chase lasted for about 20 minutes.

More than a dozen police cars were on the scene at the time the chase ended on I-70 near Prospect Avenue.

Officers had to temporally close the westbound lanes of the interstate. All lanes were reopened about noon.

Officers said they confiscated two handguns and an A-47 from the car.

No one was injured in the incident, and there were no accidents.
