LAWRENCE, KS (KCTV) -

Authorities say no foul play is suspected after a man's body was found on the side of Kansas Highway 10 early Wednesday morning.

Lawrence police said a driver spotted the body near East 1600 Road about 6 a.m. as they were headed to work. It was found near an industrial area called Venture Park.

Nathan Thurman, 37, had been recently staying at the nearby Lawrence community shelter.

An autopsy will determine the exact cause of death, but foul play has been thus far ruled out.

"We don't have any signs of obvious trauma. Usually when a car hits something, (like) a deer, there are some signs of trauma, but we are not seeing that in this case," Sgt. Trent McKinley said.

The Kansas Department of Transportation closed the right lane of the highway while detectives investigated the scene. The lane reopened about 10:45 a.m.
