Standoff ends after man not found in Lee's Summit home

LEE'S SUMMIT, MO (KCTV) -

Authorities are investigating after a standoff outside a Lee's Summit home Tuesday morning.

Lee's Summit police were called about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday to the 400 block of Northeast Westwind Drive in regard to a domestic disturbance.

When officers arrived on the scene they located a female victim who believed the male subject was inside her home.

Officers took the woman to safety but could not make contact with the man.

The Lee's Summit Police Department's Emergency Services Squad and the Jackson County Sheriff's Department's tactical team were called to the scene.

Authorities cleared the scene at 9:25 a.m. after they found out the man wasn't inside the home.

No criminal charges have been filed at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
