(WFAA/CNN) - An 8-year-old girl fell from a zip line during a Fourth of July celebration and was badly injured.

At the Frisco Freedom Fest in Frisco, TX, witnesses said a girl was riding the zip line and fell out of her safety harness about 30 feet above the ground Friday.

"I can't describe the feeling, you know, of having anybody -- especially a child -- fall from a zip line, and my heart just went out to her parents,” Melissa Bradbury, who witnessed the fall, said.

The girl was flown a nearby hospital, but authorities have not given a statement on her condition.
