Police looking for drivers who sped away from officers

Posted: Updated:
KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Kansas City police are still looking for a couple of drivers after an unusual chase.

It all started shortly before 3 a.m.

Police were trying to stop a white truck whose driver was speeding north on Highway 71.

Officers say the truck hit several vehicles near Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard and Prospect Avenue. As officers tried to stop it, a white van also started to speed away from them.

The driver of the van ended up losing control and blew out both front tires. The driver got out and ran off on foot.

After that, officers were able to stop the truck, but the driver ended up getting back in and taking off.

Only a passenger was arrested.

Fortunately, no one was hurt.
