KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A 65-year-old man on a motorcycle is expected to be OK after a wreck on southbound Interstate 35 at Southwest Trafficway.

Police say they got the call about 10:30 a.m. Monday of an accident involving a Jeep Liberty and a motorcycle.

Investigators say it appears the driver of the Jeep merged into the lane with the motorcyclist and may not have seen him.

The female driver hit the bike, sending it and motorcyclist to the ground. The man on the motorcycle was rushed to an area hospital and is expected to recover from his injuries.

Two lanes of the highway were closed off while police worked the accident scene. Those lanes were re-opened about 11:15 p.m..

The driver of the Jeep was not injured.
