(WMC) - Church members were wading through three feet of water when they arrived at Lindenwood Christian Church for Sunday service.
Gary Aulfinger says overnight rain was just too much for the church's roof.
"There's a seam here where the first and second floors kind of join together and that seam just opened up and everything poured in," said Aulfinger.
The result — nearly three feet of water inside the church's worship area.
"We just moved across the hall to the pipe organ choir space and we worshipped and it was wonderful," added Aulfinger.
Coincidentally, Sunday's sermon focused on water and the church's ripple effect on communities.
"And to have this as a backdrop for all of that it seems like there was a little divine inspiration going on making us realize even through all this we're blessed."
