KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

The Kansas City Fire Department was busy Thursday afternoon responding to reports of near drownings at two separate apartment complex pools.

The first one was reported about 1:10 p.m. at a pool at the Northland Passage Apartments, located on London Avenue, just off of Interstate 29.

A spokesperson for the Kansas City Fire Department said the child was responsive and out of the pool when they arrived. They took the toddler to a hospital to be checked out.

The second near drowning was reported about 3 p.m. at 9422 Cleveland Avenue. Firefighters appeared to be focused on a woman and a small child who were in a chair underneath a covered area.

Chopper5 showed some children still in the shallow end of the pool, which could indicate that the person pulled from the pool is going to be OK.
