Woman injured in Kansas City house fire

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Firefighters on Wednesday pulled a woman from a Kansas City house fire and performed CPR on her.

The woman didn't have a pulse when firefighters found her, but they were able to perform live-saving measures.

She was taken by ambulance to an area hospital but is expected to survive, authorities said.

Firefighters responding to the house fire at 12504 E. 54th St. were told that someone was trapped inside the residence.

The fire was reported about 5:50 p.m.

There was quite a bit of smoke pouring from the house when Chopper5 was over the scene.

There was no working smoke detectors inside the home. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
