WILBRAHAM, MA (WSHM) -
Three people were ejected from a car and two of them were killed after a serious car accident occurred on Monson Road on Tuesday.
Wilbraham emergency officials responded to the scene of the accident at the intersection of Monson Bolles roads just before 9 p.m.
The car was traveling westbound when it struck a guardrail and utility pole and continued across two lawns before coming to a rest on its roof, according to Wilbraham Police Chief Roger Tucker.
Adam F. Surrette, 24, of 47 Jordan St. in Springfield, was transported to Baystate Medical Center and was in critical condition Wednesday morning, Tucker said.
Nathan J. Raffol, 19 , of 100 Monson Rd., Wilbraham, was also taken to Baystate and later died, Tucker said.
Nolan Toski, 23, of 8 Highmoor Dr., Wilbraham, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, Tucker said.
Witnesses reported that speed was a contributing factor, according to Tucker.
Wilbraham police said the accident was being treated as a crime scene and reconstruction units were on scene. They asked drivers to avoid the area while the road was closed as crews investigated the cause of the accident.
The crash is being investigated by the Wilbraham Police Department and the Hampden County District Attorney's Office.
The investigation is ongoing.
CBS 3 will bring the latest information on the accident as soon as it becomes available.
