WARRENSBURG, MO (KCTV) -

Child sex charges have been filed against a school official in Warrensburg.

Darron J. Chapman is charged with one count of first-degree statutory rape and four counts of first-degree statutory sodomy.

According to court documents, between Oct. 17, 2008 and June 20, 2014, Chapman molested a child under the age of 12. He admitted to several of the instances to various people.

Chapman is the IT director for the Warrensburg School District.

"We have not been contacted by authorities, so we don't know anything official or definitive at this point. We know what you know, and what's on Casenet," said Dr. Scott Patrick, the superintendent of the Warrensburg School District.

There are no indications in the court documents that the incidents happened on school grounds.

Patrick said Chapman has been with the district for 13 years. He resigned from his position last Tuesday.
