KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A teen was shot overnight and a woman was terrified when someone fired multiple shots at her home.

Kansas City police were busy investigating three separate shootings within a 12-hour period.

The first shooting was reported just before 9 p.m. Thursday on Montgall Avenue, near Chestnut Trafficway. The area is just north of Independence Avenue.

The wound was self inflicted, police later determined. The injuries were considered serious.

Then a 17-year-old teen walked into Children's Mercy Hospital after he said he was shot. The teen told officers that he was with his sister in the area of St. John and Monroe avenues when he was shot.

Authorities didn't say how serious the teen's injuries are.

Bullets struck a home near 110th Street and Blue Ridge Boulevard. The woman who lives there said she was terrified when she woke to the sounds of popping. Bullets shattered windows and shell casings littered her street.

Thankfully her sons were OK. She said the sound of gunshots aren't unusual in her neighborhood and she wants it stopped.

She said she doesn't know who was responsible but she wants them caught.

If you have any information on any of these shootings, call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
