THORNTON, CO (KUSA/CNN) - One person is unaccounted for after a home explosion in Thornton, CO.

Witnesses reported hearing a blast and seeing a ball of smoke and flames as debris flew hundreds of feet into the sky.

Neighbors reportedly rushed to the home with garden hoses to keep the flames at bay.

Fire crews were able to snuff out the flames within minutes.

Workers from several agencies, including Xcel Energy were on the scene trying to figure out what caused the fiery blast.
