Lexington man, 22, dies in Lafayette County crash

Posted: Updated:
LEXINGTON, MO (KCTV) -

The Missouri Highway Patrol is investigating a two-car accident in Lafayette County that has left a young man dead.

The accident happened about 8:15 a.m. Monday in the northbound lane of Highway 13 just north of Garrison Road in Lexington.

Dalton Rardon, 22, of Polo, MO, was pronounced dead at the scene after he was ejected during the crash.

The highway patrol said Rardon was not wearing a seat belt.

Troopers say Rardon's car crossed the center line and struck a car driven by a 33-year old woman.

His car then went off the right side of the highway. The accident also caused the woman's car to go off the highway, and it caught fire.

The woman, from Corder, MO, was taken to Lafayette Regional Hospital with minor injuries.
