KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -

Police had a house surrounded Sunday night as part of a shooting investigation, but there wasn't enough evidence to justify them searching the home.

Kansas City, KS, police were called to the 1200 Block of Quindaro Boulevard about 6:20 p.m. Sunday on a reported shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a victim who was struck by shrapnel. The victim was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

During the initial investigation, officers said they received suspect information which led to a home in the 1300 block of Georgia Avenue.

After numerous attempts to make contact with suspects inside of the home, the decision was made to discontinue the standoff, based on the lack of evidence to continue.

This incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
