Man in critical condition after being shot in the neck

HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

The Hartford Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened on Albany Avenue near Oakland Terrace. 

According to police, the victim, who is identified as Jonathan Weaver, 25, of Hartford, is at St. Francis Hospital and is listed in critical condition.

Weaver was in his vehicle and stopped at Oakland Terrace when the suspect walked up and fired one round. 

Police said Weaver drove through the intersection and struck a vehicle. He then continued south on Oakland Terrace and drove himself to the hospital. 

Weaver sustained a serious gunshot would to his neck.

The car that Weaver struck was registered to Hartford city councilor Kenneth Kennedy. Eyewitness News talked to Kennedy, who said that his 19-year-old daughter was driving the car at the time. 

She was going to the mall to fill out a job application when Weaver hit the back of her car.

Police are looking for a newer, black Toyota Corolla with a Pennsylvania license plate. 

This is the second shooting in Hartford on Saturday.
