OVERLAND PARK, KS (KCTV) -

Two people have been injured in a residential-construction accident late Wednesday morning.

Johnson County Med-Act said the accident happened at 9:45 a.m. near West 171 and Hauser streets.

One person was seriously hurt and the other suffered minor injuries. The two men were transported to an area hospital.

Construction workers on the scene said a gable was upright and it fell backwards, hitting the man who was underneath it. The man appeared to suffer serious head injuries. The workers weren't sure how the other man got injured.

Many new homes are being built in the area.
