Victim found in cemetery had been repeatedly shot

CASS COUNTY, MO (KCTV) -

Authorities in Cass County are investigating their first homicide in nearly three years after a body was found on the grounds of a Cass County cemetery.

The victim had been shot several times, authorities said Wednesday night.

The body was found at about 3 p.m. Wednesday in the 21800 block of South Thorngrove Road. Wills Cemetery is just east of Peculiar.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. The victim was identified as Forrest D. Fuller, 25, of Peculiar, Missouri. A vehicle was found near his body, which was lying near a gravel-type road in the cemetery. Officers also focused their attention on headstones near where the body was.

One neighbor said he heard a couple shots overnight.

"It had to be 2 or 3 in the morning. I heard two shots. One on Jog Road and one further down on 215," Ron Pamer said. "It is a quiet neighborhood. I didn't think things like that happened around here."

The Metro Squad has been called to help solve the crime.
