National Donut Day 2014

Bakeries from the Tri-State will be passing out tasty treats. The day honors military veterans and the work of Salvation Army volunteers who used donuts to comfort American soldiers in Europe during WWII. Family friendly event with donut games.

Cincinnati Reds

Cheer on the Redlegs as they face the Phillies this weekend at Great American Ball Park. Fans will enjoy Fireworks Friday, a free Reds hat to the first 20,000 fans on Saturday and Reach Magazine Family Day on Sunday with a Brandon Phillips growth chart for kids.

The Monkees

OTR's eclectic monthly street festival begins its 9th year with a "Main Street Block Party." Check out more than 90 local vendors and food trucks, live music and street performers, the Cincinnati Sports League's outdoor beer garden, as well as sales and specials from shops along Main Street.

Details: noon-5 p.m. Sunday. Main Street, between 13th and Liberty streets, Over-the-Rhine. Free admission. www.secondsundayonmain.org.

Opera in the Park

Outdoor performances from opera and musical theater favorites like Carmen, Madame Butterfly, West Side Story, La Bohème, La Traviata, and more. Park concessions offer full bar service, soda and water. Food trucks also on-site. Hosted by Cincinnati Opera Artistic Director Evans Mirageas.
