LIBERTY, MO (KCTV) -

A fire caused extensive damage to a popular Liberty furniture store Sunday morning, but firefighters reported no injuries.

The Liberty Fire Department received a 911 call just after 9 a.m. regarding the fire at Crowley Furniture locate at 200 N. Highway 291.

The Kansas City Fire Department was called in to assist and provide additional crews to allow for the rotation of firefighters.

The fire was brought under control by 10:30 a.m. and was contained to the furniture.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The state fire marshal is being called in to investigate the blaze.

Owner Greg Crowley thanked the firefighters who worked during the heat and humidity to battle the blaze.

"It is awful happening," he said. "It is great to have a great group of people behind us."

No one was hurt.
