Bank robbery suspects crash into tree in Liberty

LIBERTY, MO (KCTV) -

Police chased suspects from an Excelsior Springs bank robbery into Liberty where the vehicle crashed into a tree.

The Bank Midwest on North Jesse James Road was robbed shortly after 5:30 p.m.

Sheriff's deputies spotted a vehicle matching the description of the getaway car heading southbound on Highway 69 toward Liberty. They tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver took off.

After a short pursuit into Liberty, the vehicle crashed into a tree in the area of Kings Highway and Liberty Drive.

Authorities said three were arrested.

An ambulance was ordered to the scene. It's unknown if all three suspects were injured or the severity of the injuries.
