Silver alert issued for Kansas City, Kansas man

OVERLAND PARK, KS (KCTV) -

Update: Overland Park police said Friday night that John E. Burris has been found safe and has been reunited with his family.

Overland Park Police has issued a Silver Alert for 80-year old John E. Burris of Kansas City, Kansas. 

Burris, had told family members on Thursday evening that he was in Overland Park, somewhere along 119th street, purchasing a pair of shoes.  He is described as a black male, 6'2", 180 pounds, with brown eyes, gray hair and a full gray beard.  It was unknown what Mr. Burris was wearing when he disappeared.

Police believe that Burris may have driven north along K-7 towards Atchison or Leavenworth, KS.  He is driving a maroon 1995 Crown Victoria with Kansas license plates of 440 BZH.
