An 18-year-old has been charged with attempted aggravated murder for allegedly firing shots at an officer at close range.

Vincent Phillips, 18, is being held on more than $1 million bond for his involvement in a shooting Tuesday in North College Hill.

Officers received reports of an illegal dice game around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Sterling and Betts Avenue. Officers arriving on the scene say that numerous suspects fled the scene. Authorities gave chase.

Officials say that Phillips tuned toward an officer and fired several shots in his direction. The officer did not return fire.

Authorities say that Phillips was found hiding in a nearby bush. Police arrested him and found his gun nearby.

Officials say that several of his alleged gambling partners were also apprehended. No one was injured in the incident.
