KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A woman fleeing from police in a luxury car hit two other vehicles and three innocent people were injured, Kansas City police said Wednesday afternoon.

At about 12:20 p.m. police tried to stop the woman at 51st Street and College Avenue for driving 55 mph in a 35-mph zone. Police said the woman initially stopped but then took off.

Police pursued her until they got her license plate and then halted the chase, but she kept going.

While westbound on 51st Street, she hit a vehicle head-on, police said. The woman then lost control and her vehicle careened into a city dump truck.

The suspect and the first driver she hit suffered serious injures. The city workers were injured but less seriously.

All four were taken to area hospitals via ambulance. All are expected to be OK.
