Harveysburg mayor charged with sexual imposition

The mayor of Harveysburg, a small village near Caesar Creek Lake in northeastern Warren County, has been charged with sexual imposition.

The Warren County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday that on May 5 it began investigation Mayor Richard Verga as a result of a complaint filed by Harveysburg Village Clerk Carol Nelson. She claimed Verga inapprotiately touched her before an April 28 council meeting, the sheriff's office said.

The charge is a third degree misdemeanor.

The village has a population of 546, according to the 2010 Census.
