Braised Pear Salad
2 (not fully ripe) pears
1 Honey Crisp Apple
1/4 cup Pure Honey
1/2 tsp Ground Nutmeg
Slice Pears thinly, leaving on the skin.
Dice Apple into small pieces, leaving on the skin.
You will need a sauce pan, with a fitted lid.
Add Pears, Apple, Honey and Nutmeg to pan.
Heat the stove top to Medium-High.
Place pan on hot stove and listen for the honey to begin steaming. Keep the pan moving over heat to prevent from burning.
Remove from heat and let sit for a minute, continue to move pear mixture without lifting lid.
You are steaming the pears and apple with the honey. Once the mixture has begun to soften, remove from heat and let the pears and apple continue to steam. Let stand for 15 minutes with lid on pan.
To serve, place a couple spoonfuls of the Honey Pear mixture on top of fresh Romaine Lettuce and add croutons. Drizzle Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing over the salad.
