KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Investigators are trying to sort out what started a chase that ended in a crash early Wednesday morning.

Three children were inside the truck when it crashed.

The truck lost its back and front driver's side tires and crashed at East Firth and Locust streets in the City Market area.

After the crash, two men hopped out of the truck and ran. Police were able to catch one, but the other man got away. A woman is now in custody.

The chase started in Independence. Police said they used stop sticks at Interstate 435 and Truman Road to slow the truck down.

Police said the children in the truck during the chase appear to be OK.

As far as what sparked the chase, all police are saying at this point is that officers tried to stop the woman for a traffic violation but then it kept on going.
