KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Hazardous materials crews were called to the Internal Revenue Service building in Kansas City after an employee found a suspicious white substance inside a package.

Firefighters were called to 333 W. Pershing Rd. about 7 a.m. Wednesday.

Kansas City Fire Department Battalion Chief and spokesman James Garrett said the area has been cordoned off and isolated as a precaution.

It is still not clear what was in the package.
