Police looking for serial beauty store bandit

OVERLAND PARK, KS (KCTV) -

Police are looking for a woman they say is a serial burglar at beauty supply stores.

Overland Park police say they are trying to identify the woman shown in surveillance photos. They say she stole from three different beauty supply stores in Johnson County on May 10.

The beauty store bandit had a big day, according to police, stealing $700 in products from Ulta at 95th Street and Quivira Road in Overland Park before moving on to two more Ulta stores all in the same day. Investigators say she walked into the store, removed items from their packaging and put them inside her purse. In total she stole $700 worth of makeup and other beauty items.

The packages were put back on the shelves, which employees later found.

The suspect is described as a white female in her 20s or 30s. She has brown hair and was wearing black pants, a black shirt and had on a pink jacket.

Police are hoping someone recognizes her.

"As you can imagine, this store over the lunch hour is probably pretty busy and there are a lot of people inside the stores. I'm not there and I can't speak for their security system, but they've got some great surveillance video and we're able to get some pictures out to the public, so we're asking the public to take a look and see if they can identify her and know who she is," said Officer Gary Mason.

Police say the other stores don't have the final dollar amount on what was taken.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect is asked to contact the TIPS HOTLINE at 816-474-TIPS or the Overland Park Police at 913-344-8750.
