SIBLEY, MO (KCTV5) -

Much of the focus on Saturday's tornado was in the town of Orrick, which was hit hard, but it wasn't the only area affected. Neighbors in Sibley were also in the path.

Neighbors describe the tornado as quick and crazy. They say it came out of nowhere.

"You have no time to do anything. We heard Sibley on the TV, and we said 'what?' And everything started flying," Aubrey Powell said.

The EF-2 tornado broken branches, uprooted trees and toppled play sets. Powell and her family huddled in their home out of harm's way.

"My legs were shaking. I was trying to stay clam for my kids, but I was terrified," she said.

So was her neighbor, Karin Roth, who got home just as the tornado hit.

"Opened up the garage door to unload the truck, and all of a sudden, all hell broke loose," Roth said.

Amid the chaos, Roth's husband managed to take photos of the twister.

Fortunately, no one was hurt, but neighbors say they learned a hard lesson.

"You should just always be prepared. If you're in this area, you should just always have a backup plan," Powell said.

After the storm, Galvin Road was completely blocked by debris. Neighbors had to clear it away before public works could make it though.
