MT. AIRY, OH (FOX19) -

Two families spent Mother's Day mourning and remembering loved ones gunned down in Mt. Airy.

Beyoncia Willis, 24, and Keelin Broach, 31, were killed last weekend inside an apartment on W. North Bend Road, the same spot where those families and friends gathered to remember them.

"He never bothered nobody.  He never hurt nobody.  He was a good kid," said a tearful Valeria McKinney, mother of Keelin Broach.

This Mother's Day was particularly difficult for McKinney after her son's death.

"If my son was here, we would be out eating.  We would be doing something very happy.  He's always with me on every holiday.  He's with my girls, with his sisters, with his family," McKinney said.

Baron Brand, 22, is charged with that murder.  He's also accused of not only killing Broach, but Willis, as well.

"She loved her kids.  Her kids are her backbone.  Regardless of anything else, she was always trying to do for her kids," said Dajuna Willis, cousin of Beyoncia Willis.

Those children are now without their mother.  Family members say Willis leaves behind two young children, a daughter and a son.

"It's going to be difficult.  But, her kids are going to be taken care of, regardless.  It's just going to be harder for them to understand, 'why don't I have a mom,'" said Willis.

Hand in hand friends and family prayed for the victims outside of 2712 W. North Bend Road, which is the scene of the crime.  It's the same spot where a small memorial now sits.

"This says that he was a loved child.  Look at all this love up in here," McKinney told FOX19.

Broach's mother believes there are other suspects. There was a third person shot in the altercation that night.  That individual is expected to be fine.  There's no word yet if Brand will face charges for that.  His bond is set at $1 million.

Anyone with information on the investigation is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 352-3040.
