BLANCHESTER, OH (FOX19) -
The kidnapping and assault of two men is being investigated by Blanchester Police as a drug related incident.
Two men told police on Saturday that they had been held against their will and assaulted at a home on East Center Street. The victims, Mark Simons, 22, and Cole Campbell, 19, called authorities after their captors released them in a field near State Route 113, according to a press release from Blanchester PD.
One of the men remains hospitalized for injuries sustained during the alleged abduction.
Authorities searched the home at 703 East Center Street on Sunday where three dogs, including a puppy, were found living in what they called ‘deplorable conditions' with no water, little food and dog feces throughout the house. The dogs were turned over to the Clinton County Dog Warden.
Several items of evidence were collected in the home and the victim's vehicle was also seized as evidence, police said.
Police said they are searching for Brittany Hoggart and two
other African American men who have not been identified. The three suspects are reportedly driving a
silver BMW with Michigan plates.
A filing of formal charges is expected on Monday, according to Blanchester's Chief of Police Scott Reinbolt.
This is the second time police have visited the East Center Street home in the last week. A man was arrested there on May 6 on domestic violence charges after police said he attacked another man.
