Police: Illinois man arrested in connection with Hamilton shooting

HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) -
Authorities have an arrested an East St. Louis, Ill. man in connection with an April 9 shooting at a man that caused bullets to strike the building that houses the Boys and Girls Club of Hamilton.
Marcus Williams, 21, is being held on a probation violation at the St. Clair County, Ill. jail and authorities plan to extradite him to Butler County on an attempted murder charge.
Police said on April 9 shots were fired at Torriano Ross that resulted in bullets hitting the building. Police said they working to identify a second suspect.
Police said this shooting and other shootings that have happened in the city's second and fourth wards are not crimes that happened randomly.
"They are the result of a small, isolated group of individuals and are directed at specific individuals," police said. "Through aggressive and focused patrols in targeted areas, problems with this group of persons that has little or no regard for the safety of (the) public is being actively and aggressively addressed by Hamilton Police."
