Glen Bohl captured a beautiful photo of an interesting phenomenon in Cedarville, Ohio.
According to FOX19 meteorologist Steve Horstmeyer, what you were seeing is called "iridescence."
These are altocumulus clouds about 10,000 - 13,000 feet above ground level.
They are composed of very small water drops, all about the same size and about the size of light waves.
When light waves hit the drops, diffraction takes place (light is scattered by the small water drops) and you get the glowing cloud. Each color is scattered differently and you happened to be in the location or locations where the pastel yellow was visible.
Colors caused by diffraction are also seen in oil floating on water and the tracks of music CDs and DVDs.
They were born just two weeks apart. A 10-week-old baby and 8-week-old pit bull have a fascinating relationship. They absolutely adore each other! Louisiana native Brandi Hodges, 25, has posted photosMore >
