Firefighters battle 2-alarm fire at Kansas City apartment complex

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Firefighters battling a two-alarm apartment fire late Thursday morning.

Crews were called shortly after 11 a.m. Thursday to the 3500 block of East 51st Street, located just west of Swope Parkway.

The fire started shortly after 11 a.m. Thursday at an apartment on East 51st Street just west of Swope Parkway.

Flames and black smoke greeted arriving firefighters. Firefighters requested back up so it became a two-alarm fire.

No injuries were reported, and the Red Cross was ordered to help residents.
