Police are investigating a sex crime in a sauna at a popular Overland Park fitness club.
The victim told police that he was groped at Prairie Life Fitness. He said he was in the sauna alone when another man joined in. That man then groped him. When the victim reacted, the suspect fled the sauna.
"We don't get a lot of calls that refer to a male touching another male," said Overland Park Police Department Officer Gary Mason.
The center is at 103rd Street and Metcalf Avenue.
News of the sexual battery upset club goers who said they feel safe at the center.
Police say the victim did the right thing by reporting the crime rather than reacting violently.
Prairie Life Fitness tracks those coming and going from the facility, and police hope to identify the person of interest soon.
"We are reviewing the security video," Mason said.
