OVERLAND PARK, KS (KCTV) -

Overland Park police say they have a man in custody Monday night following a stabbing in that city late Monday morning.

Police said they received a 911 call from a female at about 11 a.m. stating she had been stabbed several times and needed medical assistance. The victim lived in the 10200 block of West 81st Terrace.

Officers discovered the disturbance involved a domestic relationship between the female victim and her male roommate.

The victim was taken to an area hospital with what are described as critical injuries.

Her roommate was arrested and transported to the Johnson County Jail.

He's expected to be charged Tuesday.

Overland Park police Public Information Officer Gary Mason said the investigation is ongoing.  No further information is available.
