ADRIAN TOWNSHIP, MI (Toledo News Now) -

Two men have been arrested after the Lenawee County Sheriff's Office says they stole a shotgun from a Michigan sporting goods store two weeks ago.

Police say around 11 a.m., two male subjects entered Johnson's Sporting Goods on North Adrian Highway in Adrian Township. Once inside, one of the males distracted sales clerks while the second subject took a 12 gauge shotgun from the sales rack. The subject then checked to see if anyone was looking. When he determined no one could see him, he placed the shotgun down his pants and left the store.

The shotgun is described as a Remington model 870 12 gauge shotgun with a black stock.

As a result of several tips received by CrimeStoppers, the two suspects have been identified and are both in custody on unrelated charges. They should be charged later this week with the theft.

Anyone with more information on a crime is encouraged to contact CrimeStoppers of Lenawee. You can call 517-266-6161 or 877-276-8477. You can also text your tip to 274637, starting your tip with "Lenawee." Or you can submit a tip online. You can leave your tip anonymously. Any tips that lead to the arrest of the responsible person or persons will earn the tipster a cash reward.
