18 year old killed in overnight crash in Chesterfield

Posted: Updated:

The Chesterfield County Police Department has released the identity of a person who was killed in a single-vehicle crash.

A passenger, 18-year-old Tyler Patnaude, was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say around 10 p.m. Friday, the driver of a 2007 Mazda 3 was traveling east on Woodlake Village Parkway, when the car ran off the road and hit a tree near Clipper Cove Road.

Friends put together a small memorial on the crash site Saturday, with a sign reading, "You're walking on the streets of gold... Hand and hand with our savior... You'll be missed Tyler."

According to friends, Patnaude was a senior at Cosby High School, just weeks away from graduation.

The driver and two other passengers were also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police continue their investigation into the crash.
