KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Police just wrapped up a little more than an hour-long search for suspects after a bail bondsman reported hearing shots fired Tuesday afternoon.

The incident was reported at East 39th and Olive streets about 2:40 p.m.

Police said a bail bondsman flagged down a patrol car to say he heard gunfire two blocks east at 39th Street and Prospect Avenue and saw a group of people run west.

Officers don't believe anyone was hit.

Shortly after 3 p.m. there was still a heavy police presence.

Chopper 5 video shows one man in handcuffs sitting on the curb and a K-9 unit searching nearby trees. Police said they didn't yet know if he was involved in any way, but were interviewing him.

While they searched for anyone who might have been hiding, police had a perimeter blocked off from Olive Street to Park Avenue and 38th to 39th streets. They ended their search shortly before 4 p.m.
