AZ pro-gun bills pass in House, Senate - KCTV5

AZ pro-gun bills move to governor's desk

Posted: Updated:
TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now/AP) -

Three pro-gun bills are one step away from becoming laws in Arizona.

The Senate approved the bills this morning, then the House gave its final approval this afternoon.

One bill allows concealed carry permit holders to take their guns into government buildings that don't have strict security.

The second would allow a fine for cities and their lawmakers who enact gun laws stricter than the state.

A third would allow authorities to charge a person with aggravated assault who's accused of taking away someone else's gun.

Most Democrats voted against the bills, but they still passed since Republicans control the Senate.

The bills are now on the governor's desk, waiting to be signed.
