One of the newest members of the Toledo Police Department was integral to a major drug bust by the force.

Luke the K9 led detectives to 111 pounds of unprocessed marijuana plants in the 1300 block of Oak Street.

The marijuana has a street value of more than $177,000.

"We were able to at least locate an alley that we thought the odor was the strongest. We took the dog into the alley. He indicated the back of the garage from the alley. That's where he said the narcotics were located," said TPD K9 handler Don Comes.

Charges in the case are pending against Wendy and William Fyffe.
