Construction accident causes gas leak in KCK

KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -

A construction accident on Wednesday morning has caused the evacuation of a strip mall and several town homes in Kansas City, Kansas. 

Kansas City Kansas Fire Department spokesman, Deputy Chief Craig Duke, said that this morning a front loader was working at a construction site and struck a gas line. As a precaution, the strip mall adjoining to the construction site was evacuated as well as eight town homes to the north of the site.

As of 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, the line has been pinched off, and the leak has been contained.
