A Clermont County golf tournament was interrupted on Saturday when a private plane made an emergency landing on the course.
The plane was headed to Illinois when it experienced engine failure shortly after taking off from the Clermont County Airport. Pilot Kenneth Howes decided to make an emergency landing on the green of Stillmeadow Country Club.
Howes landed at the fairway of the 17th hole, hitting a sand bunker that caused the single engine plane to roll over. Passenger Karla Goodhouse, who owns the plane, and Howes were not injured.
The pilot was licensed but police said he did not have insurance. The FAA was called to the scene and authorities say they are still investigating the incident.
Golfers on the course continued the tournament, but skipped the par five 17th hole.
