A bank robbery is impacting traffic to Kauffman Stadium for the Royals home opener.

Police are stopping cars at Highway 40 and Blue Ridge Boulevard.

The First Federal Bank near East 43rd Street and Blue Ridge Boulevard was robbed about 1:25 p.m. Friday and the suspect fled on foot. An FBI spokesperson said the suspect approached a teller window and produced a note and demanded money. He did not display a weapon.

While police search for the suspect, they shut down Interstate 70 for a time. It's now back open.

Traffic on Sterling Avenue and Blue Ridge Cutoff may be impacted as well.
