Vandals continue to target vehicles in Northland

Posted: Updated:

Authorities are on the hunt for vandals in the Northland after cars, trucks and vans were hit over the weekend.

Police reports say the vandals used rocks, bats, bricks and bottles to do damage to at least nine vehicles.

Victims all tell KCTV5 News that nothing was taken from the vehicles, but they want whoever is responsible to be held accountable.

"There was nothing taken out of the car, just the windows were smashed, and then they left," Maddi Stutz said. "I'm in college, and I don't have that the money to be spending on vandalism."

And this wasn't the first time it has happened to Jo Ann Brady. She had the same van parked on North Main Street a month ago and just had the window replaced when her car was struck again.

"It really makes me mad because the police say the people didn't even stop. They just kept going. So it was just the fun of destruction. They got nothing out of it," she said.

Brady says they keep their van in the garage but had put it out one night because they had a roofing company doing home repairs.

If anyone knows anything about the vandals, they are urged to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
